About the Manga: Vayne and Drakkon

So this is an update on the manga that I've been challenged to create with my friend and it's coming along really awkwardly I gotta say. There's a lot of elements to consider when making a manga/comic especially the art. A lot has come into play for my decisions here because I take this challenge as an art exercise

I wanted to talk about the conflict between the main Protagonist and Antagonist: Vayne and Drakkon. This manga/comic is gonna have political reigns in the plot at pretty much all points. What you'll see is a clash of two very powerful leaders in their own right both who wanted what was best for their people.

As a prince Vayne went under the guise of a human while walking with a slave woman, Ophelia. He witnessed first hand the horrors of his father's reign first hand. Slavery, poverty, underfunding, and worse no hope for a better life elsewhere. The experience of walking amongst his subjects under cover changed the life views of a young obnoxious Vayne changed forever. The suffering of every race in the kingdom: Koban, Sadir, Human, and Orion all meant the same in the long run. And no one deserved to be in squalor.

When Soranus died and Vayne took over some time later. He was on the cusp of turning the kingdom of Shureia around from his father's monstrous policies. He had worked hard for much of his short stint to make the kingdom a better utopia but when one of his father's old enemies comes up from the past bearing a grudge against the entire kingdom things went downhill.

Drakkon was an older ally to the kingdom of Shureia along with the kingdom of Orion that he presided over. But after Orion fell into massive debt and eventually was acquired by Shureia the once tenable relationship between the kingdoms became strained. As Orion's unstable climate and weather conditions caused many damages that lead to more and more borrowing and deeper and deeper debt both leaders, Soranus and Drakkon sought out plans to keep each other afloat. Plans that dug deep. Plans that lead to the slow destruction of the other.

When Orion was finally at its limit, a series of major quakes were set to shatter and sink a majority of the island. Soranus saw this as the perfect opportunity to rid himself of such a pestering leech and closed his borders to any Orions seeking refuge in the kingdom of Shureia to avoid the storm. Additionally pouring salt in the wounds and deporting the small majority who lived in Shureia back to face their fate on the doomed island.

Millions died as a result of the quakes and even more in the following tsunamis. Soranus had achieved his goal of taking out Orion.

But not Drakkon...

Drakkon barely survives the catastrophe and takes out his revenge on Vayne some time later and eventually the kingdom of Shureia as he usurps the throne via murder. Which is staunchly opposed by some and supported by others leading to a horrible civil war. While the war does end and the dust settles it ends with Drakkon now the new emperor of Shureia. And the era of prosperity ends for many of the once hopeful subjects.

The storyline is really a clash of ideologies and politics. A story of the humbling of a high royalty getting a taste of what living as one of his subjects is truly like. Vayne has to be subjected to horrible policy and strict government and is pushed to his limit trying to undo Drakkon's damage. He feels the horror of his people. The pain. The sorrow. The guilt. And this quest of his to retake his throne is more than just a quest for power, it's a path of mass hope. A hope for the people.

"To Russia. You want us to take you to Russia?" A bewildered Slig asked Tori upon hearing her favor request. "World energy conferences, it's held in Moscow every five years. We've got two months before it starts." "And you're gonna pay us a million dollars, each?" "One million dollars each." "Alrght just making sure I heard ya right, that's all." "Uh, don't mind me butting in, of course if you do you don't know me very well, but I'm interested in this." Izzy cut in. "What kind of presentation do you have lined up?" "Ehh it's some boring stuff. Increasing the efficiency of Geothermal energy and saving the world's natural resources and all that jazz, it's my dad's project really, I just helped refine it here and there but he just wants me to be his golden girl with him since my mom is gone." Tori responded. "Robert still out to 'improve t
